Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre is the only rural sexual violence resource centre in Manitoba and as such, provides one of a kind programming to the region we serve. The mission of Survivor’s Hope is to provide support and services through programming in eastern Manitoba.  We provide sexual assault crisis intervention and counselling support to survivors and secondary victims of sexual assault through our SARAH Program, act as an educational resource for schools through our SADI Program, and engage community and service providers through projects under our Reaching Out Program.

The Opportunity

As the Executive Director, you will have an opportunity to be part of unique and forward-thinking empowerment programs in rural Manitoba. You will impact the services available to rural survivors of sexual violence and oversee innovative preventative education programs. You will be an essential part of relationships among health care providers, law enforcement, educators, and support services to bring them together in a coordinated response to sexual violence.

In this role, you will focus on:

  • Participating with the Board of Directors in developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization
  • Providing supportive oversight and HR duties to five staff members in the SADI, SARAH, and Reaching Out programs
  • Maintaining relationships and communications with all agency funders and complete the needed financial and program reports
  • Staying tuned in and aware of the needs of the communities we serve through quality relationships, and respond with empowering program solutions

What you bring

  • Relevant post-secondary education with a minimum of 2-4 year’s related experience
  • Knowledge of leadership, management, and financial principles as they relate to non-profit
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities as they relate to the mission of the organization
  • Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, and project management
  • Proficiency in word processing, email, GSuite, and social media
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a respectful and assertive communication style
  • Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
  • Values that prioritize equity, justice, empowerment, and elevating marginalized voices
