Women’s History Month

She Has Made the Impossible, Possible

Each year in October, Women’s History Month is celebrated across Canada as a way of publicly acknowledging the contributions of women. Our annual celebration provides an opportunity to recognize the many achievements of women in our province and to reflect on the important social changes women have made.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “She Has Made the Impossible, Possible”. The Manitoba Women’s Advisory Council invites you to participate in our exciting project during the month of October. We are asking women and girls from across the province to use our submission form to tell us about the women who have made the Impossible, Possible for you. Write a story, poem or draw a picture to help us honour the important achievements of Manitoba women. We encourage submissions from across the province and hope that women and girls will use the opportunity to come together and honour women who have helped shape their communities.

The submissions will be assembled into a public display at the Manitoba Legislative Building that will be launched on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in Room 200. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2013. Forward your submissions to: Manitoba Status of Women, 409 – 401 York Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0P8 or email to msw@gov.mb.ca.
