Special Event: Ask Me, Tell Me, Hear Me

Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre and Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority are working together to hold a special event, “Ask Me, Tell Me, Hear Me”, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8th.

Our goals for Ask Me, Tell Me, Hear Me are identifying gaps in service provision, effective SARAH (Sexual Assault Recovery and Healing) PR, educating the public (addressing myths, sharing info on services), and getting service providers to work together.

The event will start at 9:00 am, finishing off at around 3:00 pm, at the Papertown Motor Inn. Morning snack and lunch will be provided as well as travel.

The day’s event will focus on Discussion Centres; topics and guidelines for discussion will include:

  • Domestic Abuse
  • Women’s shelters in Manitoba and regional options
  • Information on Manitoba’s Domestic Violence Strategy shared
  • Cycle of abuse discussion
  • Experiences as women
  • Sexual Violence discussion centre (lead by member of Survivor’s Hope Crisis Centre)
  • Myths that contribute to a sexually violent culture
  • Realities of sexual assault trauma revealed
  • Regional sexual assault crisis intervention protocol outlined
  • Gaps and Barriers discussion centre – lead by organizing committee members (Board/other)
  • What do you see or don’t see for support services in your community?
  • What is and isn’t working for you when you need information or need help?
  • What do you want in the way of services and information? How do we get it to you?
  • Where do we go from here?

Please pass on to anyone you feel would be interested in or would benefit from participating in this worthwhile event.
